The Intimate and Romantic Wedding at
St.
Focas for Antonis and Sofia
Antonis and Sofia met and fell in love at Vatera the
previous summer. They not only fell in love with each
other but they fell in love with Vatera too. So they
came back this summer to Vatera to get married. They
chose the chapel of St.Focas, perched up the rocks of
the harbour and next door to the Temple of Dionysus to
take their vows and have their big day blessed.
It was an evening wedding. As the sun was setting behind
the horizon and the lights of Vatera were twinkling in
the distance the bride arrived like a vision to the
inpatient bridegroom.
This wedding was a small close family affair. The guests
were their closest relatives and friends. Everything was
done in the true and traditional Greek manner until a
Vitara Jeep whisked off bride and groom to Taverna
Neraida for the wedding party afterwards.

The Big Fat Greek Wedding for Tam & Nicky

In the late summer of 2002, a large party of Greek
Americans (four generations of the same family) and
their friends made a booking at MADONNA for the
summer of 2003. This was to be a family reunion with
a “return to your roots” twist, celebrated with close
and cherished friends.
We were delighted to have such a delightful event
happening at MADONNA, since family reunions are very
close to our hearts. Coming from a family that has a
similar background (paternal great grand father
emigrated to America (Boston), 4/5s of the extended
family are scattered across USA to this day), we felt
that our own family was coming home.
As the autumn progressed into winter and then spring, an
intimacy developed between us, which lead to unexpected
vistas: one wedding and two christenings!!!!!!
Everything was planned and agreed by frequent e-mails
and executed by our Wedding Consultant, according
to the agreed plan of action. This included choice of
church and priest, issuing of marriage licence, flowers,
bridal and christening necessities, wedding cake, photos
and celebration party with traditional Greek food and
authentic live Greek music and dancing.
We would very much like to give a blow by blow account
of these happy events, which are now font memories but
apart from invading the precious privacy of people we
have come to love and respect we feel that pictures
paint a thousand words.
The photo galleries of the wedding, the christenings and
the wedding feast are just a sample of the joyous
happenings….without any spitting….
Celebrations Party
The Simple & Romantic Wedding in PETRA
Lesvos
is the island of many faces and often has been called the island of love.
Joyce
and David have been coming to Lesvos and namely to
Petra
for their holidays many a long year, sometimes twice yearly.
Petra for
them is like home from home, having made many friends over the years. So when it
came to tying the knot there was no question about where this would take place.
The magical sunset over
St George’s
Island
had to be the center peace for the reception. The ceremony with the 35 guests
that joined them from UK and their many local friends took place at the Petra
Town Hall and the Reception at The Marianna Taverna, just a stone’s throw away.
There no need
for words to describe the Joy of the Occasion. Pictures speak louder than
words!.
