Festivals
The Kalomiri Festival takes place during the months of July, August and September under the auspices of the Ministry of the Aegean, the Ministry of Culture, the Prefecture of Samos, the Municipalities of Pithagorion and Marathocambos and the Greek Festivals Organisation. It includes music, theatre, arts and unique artistic shows.

July
26 July at Vathi – the Agia Paraskevi Festival.
August
At Samos town, the battle of Cavo Fonias commemoration, with swimming races in Pythagorio and a 10-day wine festival.
September
7-8 September, at Vourliotes village and Vrondiani Monastery celebrations (including dancing) to mark the birthday of the Virgin.
14 September, at the Holy Cross (Timiou Stavrou) Monastery, feast day with music, firecrackers and feast foods including loukoumades (honey-soaked cakes) and coconut sweets.
October
At Platanos - festivities to celebrate new wine and raki vintages.
Monasteries of Samos
The Monasteries of Zoodoxou Pigi (1756) and the Monastery of Agia Zoni (1695), near the capital.
The Monastery of Panagia Vrontianis (5th Century), near the village of Vourliotes, with very beautiful icons of great artistic importance.
The Monastery of Prophet Ilias (1703), 4 km from the village of Karlovasi.
The Monastery of Agia Triada, near the village of Mytilinioi.
The Monasteries of Timios Stavros (1592) and the Monastery of Megali Panagia, near the village of Pyrgos.
