CONDITIONS  & TERMS of HIRE 

Conditions

The vehicle can only be hired for legal purposes, for use within the boundaries of the Greek State. It cannot be driven out of Lesvos Island, without the company’s documented permission.

The driver must be 23 years old or older.

The driver must a have a valid Driving license (Greek, E.U. or international), issued at least one year previously.

Minimum hire time is 24 hours

Delivery

ALFA CAR RENTAL will deliver and collect the hired vehicles to/from the airport and harbour of Mytilene and to / from accommodations within the towns of Mytilene, Vatera, Molyvos, during office hours ( 8:00-21:00 ) free of charge.

For out of office hours delivery & collection or delivery & collection to/from other locations at the island there will be an additional charge following notification and agreement.

Car maintenance

Vehicles are delivered to the customer serviced and able to run for 5,000 km without the need of any additional maintenance. In the case of long-termed hire and if a scheduled  maintenance is due ALFA CAR RENTAL will replace the vehicle with another and deliver the replacement to the place of choice ( house, office, hotel ), free of charge.

Car Replacement

ALFA CAR RENTAL will replace free of charge and without any encumbrance to the customer any immobilized vehicle due to mechanical breakdown, but not if it has been immobilized by Traffic Police due to traffic offences or dangerous driving.

Accessories

Children’s seats are available at request at the time of reservation. A charge of 1.50 Euro per day is added.

Extension of hire period

This can be arranged following timely notification of the company.

The agreed rental rates include:

• Insurance,
• Unlimited Mileage,
• Tax & One named Driver.

ONE NAMED DRIVER: 

The insurances below automatically cover one named driver. You can add a further driver to the policy for a charge of 6 € per 24 hours

CDW - COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER:

In case of accident or damage to the vehicle whilst under contract to the renter, the renter is responsible for up to but not more than: €293.47 for GROUPS A - D, 352.16 for GROUPS E & F (Jeep & Automatic) & 440.21 for GROUP L (Minibuses). This cover is automatically included in the rental at no extra cost. 

PLEASE NOTE: You can avoid this responsibility completely by purchasing LWS: (Liability Waiver Surcharge) at 6 Euro per day.

AUTOMOBILE THIRD PARTY LIABILITY: 

All the vehicles in the ALFA CAR RENTAL fleet are fully covered for any bodily injury or property damage caused to Third Parties by the rental vehicle, in accordance with the legal requirements of the country of rental. This cover is automatically included in the rental at no extra cost.

BODILY INJURY up to 500,000 Euro

MATERIAL DAMAGES UP TO 100,00 Euro

ADDITIONAL INSURANCE AVAILABLE (PAI)

TW: Theft Waiver: You can increase your cover of insurance to include Theft waiver which if accepted, relieves the renter from all financial responsibility for loss or damage of the  ALFA CAR RENTAL vehicle by or following theft. 

Theft waiver is available at an additional charge of €4 per day in addition to the daily hire rate shown for Group A - D and 8 Euro per day for all other groups.

INJURY TO, OR DEATH OF, THE DRIVER AND/OR OCCUPANTS (PAI) 

To ensure greater peace of mind and to cover instances where reimbursement by a Third Party Insurance policy will not be possible (for example, if the rental vehicle were to skid into a lamp-post, without the involvement of any other vehicle), ALFA CAR RENTAL offers its renters the possibility of subscribing to a Personal Accident Insurance policy PAI

PAI: Personal Accident Insurance:

You can also increase your cover of insurance to include Personal Accident Insurance which covers the driver of the vehicle against death, partial or permanent disability by traffic accident up to €17,508.29  and medical expenses up to €1,760.82.

PAI is available at an additional charge of €4 per day in addition to the daily hire rate shown

YOU ARE LIABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING

PETROL: all consumption is payable by the renter

TRAFFIC FINES:  They are the responsibility of the renter

UNDERCARRIAGE DAMAGE: Regardless of weather CDW has been accepted or not, the renter is liable for the full repairs of any damages he / she may have caused to the underside or to the wheels & tires of the vehicle, or if the damages are due to violation of Greek traffic law (driver being under the influence of alcohol or drugs , taking part in car races or other illegal activities etc)
