    • Haramida despite its proximity to the Mytilini airport and town it is a generally undiscovered picturesque location by foreign visitors to Lesvos. It is the ideal choice for relaxed, stress free and secluded holidays with the options of easy access to places of interest on the east coast of Lesvos. (e.g. Museums, Churches & Monasteries, the hassle and bustle of busier places & shops etc) or further afield with the use of a hired vehicle. The frequent boat crossing service, which operates from nearby Skala Loutron to Perama, makes discovering the west coast of the Gulf of Gera easy. For birdwatchers Haramida offers good opportunities for birdwatching. Since 1994 a Ringing Group operates at Haramida under the directions of Dr Filios Akriotis (Hellenic Ornithological Society), with assistance of the Environmental Science students at the University of the Aegean, Mytilini. As from May 2004 there will be an accredited and licensed Scuba Diving Scholl, open for business for water sports enthusiasts.
